On April 16, 2025, the Third Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Strategic Dialogue of Central Asian and Gulf Cooperation Council States was held in Kuwait City, in which the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Ismatullo Nasredin took part.

It was noted that based on the latest initiative and the relevant UN resolution, 2025 has been declared the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation, and March 21 – World Day for Glaciers. On this occasion, the first high-level international conference on the preservation of glaciers in Tajikistan will be held in Dushanbe on May 29-31. In this regard, I. Nasredin called those present to actively participate in this high-level international conference.

On March 27th in Ashgabat, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin took part and delivered a speech in the 20th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Central Asian states and the European Union.

During the event, the participants thoroughly discussed topical issues on the interregional agenda, the state and prospects of interaction between the Central Asian states and the European Union. The ministers in particular formulated proposals for further strengthening of interregional ties in the fields of economy and trade, energy, transport connectivity, digitalization, education and culture, security and environmental protection. Special attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming first summit of the heads of Central Asian states and the European Union in Samarkand.

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the ministers within the framework of the event.

On May 29, 2024, on the frameworks of the Third Ministerial Meeting “Central Asia – Italy” in Rome, a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Central Asian countries took place with the leadership of more than 30 influential Italian companies, including Ansaldio Energia, IVECO Group, MERMEC, SAIPEM, SACE and others.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan S. Muhriddin presented the investment opportunities and economic potential of our country in the fields of hydropower, industry, natural resources, tourism and etc.

On March 15, 2024, Sharaf Sheralizoda – Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Swiss Confederation, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva participated and delivered a statement at the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition of national costumes and folk crafts of Central Asian countries.

During the speech, the Ambassador introduced to the participants national achievements, culture and ancient civilization of the Tajik people, inscription of the historical site “Sarazm” in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and Traditions of Atlas and Adras weaving, “Art of Chakanduzi”, “Nowruz”, “Falak” and “Shashmaqam” in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as well as tourism opportunities of Tajikistan.

The exhibition started on March 15, 2024 and will be continued until April 1, 2024.

On December 5, 2023, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Rahmonzoda participated in a meeting of ambassadors from Central Asian countries, Georgia, and Ukraine with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Saidov.

 

 

 

The prospects for multifaceted cooperation between the Central Asian countries, Georgia and Ukraine with Uzbekistan on both a bilateral and multilateral basis were discussed at the meeting.

 

 

 

The Minister of foreign affairs positively assessed the bilateral relations with the Republic of Tajikistan, emphasizing the contribution and role of the leaders of the two states in development of friendly relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

 

 

 

The parties confirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and tourism sectors between the countries.

On 12 July 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sodiq Imomi has received the Director of Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC) Mr. Atageldi Yazliev, who is on a working visit in Dushanbe.

 

 

 

At the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and its development prospects, the activities of the Center, including joint operational activities and information exchange.

On May 17, 2023, another round of political consultations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Federal Republic of Germany was held in Berlin under the leadership of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Muzaffar Husseynzoda, and the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Eastern European, the Caucasus, and Central Asian countries Matthias Lüttenberg.

The Political Director of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany Ms. Tjorven Bellmann and the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Germany Imomuddin Sattorov also took part in this event.

During the talks, the interlocutors exchanged constructive views on the current situation and prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany in various fields, including politics, trade, economics, investment, science, culture and security.

 

 

 

 

Also, during the talks the parties focused on cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.
