MFA of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the Permanent Representative of Finland to the OSCE

 

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov met with the Permanent Representative of Finland to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Vesa Hakkinen.

 

 

 

During the negotiations, the sides exchanged views on the interaction within the OSCE, as well as parties’ vision for improving the activities of the Organization.

 

 

 

 

The Deputy Foreign Minister informed representatives of Finland about the large-scale reforms being carried out in our country, as well as the main directions of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.

 

 

 

 

Mutual interest was expressed in implementing joint projects within the OSCE in the areas of “green economy” and “green energy”, mitigating the negative consequences of climate change.

 

 

 

The parties also discussed certain issues on the regional and international agenda.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) committed a historical mistake through adopting the recommendation and resolution regarding Türkiye on 12 October 2023.

 

 

 

With this initiative, PACE is instrumentalizing judicial processes for politics and attempting to close the channels of dialogue. This is against the democratic values that constitute the reason for the existence of the PACE.

This irresponsibility of the PACE aimed at gaining visibility will be remembered with remorse in the future.

 

 

 

 

Türkiye, which is a founding member of the Council of Europe, regrets that the organization’s advisory body PACE has moved so far away from its objectives and values.

We categorically reject the groundless allegations made against Azerbaijan in the statement of France on August 15, as a result of the phone conversation of the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Catherine Colonna, with Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

 

 

 

 

 

Regarding the claims that the Lachin road was allegedly kept under “blockade” by Azerbaijan and as a result of which “Armenian residents are facing a serious humanitarian crisis,” we once again remind that it is absurd to portray as a “blockade” the activity of the Lachin border check-point established in accordance with Azerbaijan’s obligation to guarantee the safety of citizens, vehicles and cargo on the Lachin road, as well as to prevent the misuse of the Lachin road by Armenia for military and illegal economic purposes.

 

 

 

It is well known to the French side that on a daily basis the movement of tens of Armenian residents in both directions is organized via this road through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). In addition, the fact that the French side, while referring to the decision of the International Court of Justice dated February 22, did not pay attention to the unanimous rejection of Armenia’s request to remove the Lachin border check-point by the aforementioned court with the Order dated July 6, testifies to unhealthy intentions of this country.

 

 

 

 

Also, the French side is well aware that if the Armenian residents are really in need for daily necessities, for this purpose the Azerbaijani side has offered “Aghdam-Khankendi” and other alternative routes. Despite the fact of support by the European Union and the ICRC to use these roads, it is regrettable that the French side, following Armenia’s manipulations, does not support these agreements. At the same time, the fact that the French side did not react to the violation of the agreement by Armenia and its subordinate separatist regime reached regarding the use of these alternative roads indicates the efforts of this country to further aggravate the tension in the region.

 

It is deeply concerning that France, which has never paid attention to the mass expulsion of Azerbaijanis from their homes and to the war crimes against these people for nearly 30 years, is now trying to carry out its insidious policy using Armenian residents as an excuse based on false propaganda of Armenia.

 

 

 

 

It is worth reminding the French side that turning a blind eye to the fact of continuing political-military provocations by Armenia against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and non-withdrawal of its armed forces fully from the territories of Azerbaijan in gross violation of all the norms and principles of international law, as well as obligations within the framework of the agreements, is a real obstacle to the peace process.

 

 

 

 

The fact that the French Minister, while believing the false propaganda of Armenia, in its statement referred to the misinformation about firing at the European Union Mission in Armenia, despite that it was declared false by the Mission, once again proves that France is not interested in establishing peace and stability in the region.

 

As stated in the official information of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, the movement route of the representatives of the European Union is presented to the Azerbaijani side in advance. Based on the presented route, the Azerbaijani side especially monitored that the trip of the international observers to the designated destination on the specified day happens without any incidents. The area where the mission was dispatched was not in the region of Armenia where the alleged incident took place, but in the different direction of the conditional border.

 

 

 

In recent days, the Armenian side, which creates the ground for new provocations on the conditional border and in the Karabakh economic region, adhering to its tradition tries to distract the attention of the world community by spreading slanderous information and to turn the European Union into a tool for this purpose. It is unfortunate that the French side has also become a tool of this campaign.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharaf Sheralizoda attended the opening ceremony of the 7th United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) International Forum on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), which takes place from 3 to 5 May 2023 in Athens Greece.

 

Sharaf Sheralizoda, in his speech noted the importance of PPPs in the development of sustainable infrastructure, adaptation to climate change as well as Sustainable Development Goals and projects implemented in this direction in Tajikistan.

 

 

 

The Deputy Minister considered it important to attract green financing, including green bonds or green loans, investments from international financial institutions and investment funds for the implementation of sustainable infrastructure projects, the purchase of green technologies, transition to the digital economy, the achievement of the SDGs and ensuring the sustainable economic development of the economies of the world.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev receives Olivier Becht, co-Chairman of the Kazakh-French Intergovernmental Commission

The Head of State received Olivier Becht, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the co-Chairman of the Kazakh-French Intergovernmental Commission.

Welcoming the French diplomat, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev praised the level of Kazakh-French relations and expressed confidence that his first visit to our country would give a new impetus to the strategic partnership in all areas.

“You brought a special message from President Emmanuel Macron. Please convey to him my best regards and words of sincere respect. We look forward to seeing him here to pay a state visit at any time convenient for him. I think that this visit will give a real impetus to our visual partnership in so many areas. France is our major partner in Europe. We strongly believe that we have a lot of opportunities to exploring the future”, the Head of State said.

 

During the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during President Tokayev’s visit to France, focusing on trade, economic and investment.

The President expressed readiness to provide all the necessary conditions for a broad presence of French business in the Kazakh market, especially in petrochemical industry, green energy, aviation, manufacturing, transport and logistics.

 

 

 

In turn, Olivier Becht expressed his gratitude to the President for the hospitality and highlighted the dynamic development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and France.

“Your official visit to Paris in November was a great success and generate real political impetus for the bilateral relations. I know that our President attaches great importance to his excellent relations with you, whichever enable in-depth discussions on the most sensitive international issue. Therefore, he asked me to give the utmost in addition to develop our partnership. Your country is a reliable partner for France, and the only country in Central Asia with which we have a strategic partnership,” the Minister Delegate noted.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Olivier Becht also exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda.

On 24 March 2023 in New York on the margins of the United Nations 2023 Water Conference the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Ms. Olga Algaerova.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UN Economic Commission for Europe, the outcomes of the UN 2023 Water Conference on the mid-term review of the implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028”, as well as further joint steps of interaction between the two parties in these directions.

Olga Algayerova expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation with Tajikistan and welcomed the efforts of our country to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly water-related goals, and targets.

We condemn in the strongest terms the vile attack targeting our holy book, the Quran, and our glorious flag in Denmark in the afternoon of 24 March.

Giving permission to this heinous act, which is a hate crime, under the guise of freedom of expression is completely unacceptable.

This act, which was carried out in Ramadan, has once again clearly revealed that Islamophobia, discrimination and xenophobia have reached an alarming level in Europe and that no lessons have been learned from the past.

The Danish authorities were informed that we strongly condemn and protest this act.

 

 

 

 

We call on Danish authorities to take necessary actions against the perpetrators of this hate crime and to take concrete measures in order to prevent such provocations which target social peace and culture of peaceful coexistence.
